BIOGRAPHY

Valter Nilsson is a Swedish artist from Gothenburg, known for his distinctive blend of soul, pop, and blues. He debuted in 2016 with the album Alcoholic Velvet Monkeys, a release that garnered critical acclaim for its Muscle Shoals-influenced sound. Over the years, Nilsson has become recognized for his raw, soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics, often inspired by his hometown of Gothenburg. His 2024 single ”DÖDEN” marks a new chapter in his career, as he embraces Swedish lyrics and a more pop-oriented sound. Known for his energetic live performances, Nilsson is also celebrated for his witty and poignant songwriting, drawing from his personal experiences as a hardworking ”knegare” (worker). With influences ranging from Alf Robertsson to Kjell Höglund, Nilsson continues to carve out a unique space in the Swedish music scene.
