BIOGRAPHY
The Big Black Holes are a Swedish rock band formed in the spring of 2022 by guitarist Anton Pollak, also a member of the Gothenburg-based band End of Fun. The project began as a way for Anton to explore the raw, noisy, and unpolished spirit of classic rock and garage music, with a modern twist.
Their music blends 60s psychedelic influences with 90s alternative rock, creating a distinctive sound that fuses swirling melodies, jangly guitars, and a sense of urgency with moments of dreamy introspection. The Big Black Holes capture the rebellious energy of early rock’n’roll, the messy charm of garage bands, and the melancholic sway of folk rock, channeling influences from artists like The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and Kurt Vile.
The band’s sound embraces chaos and imperfection, with fuzzed-out riffs and distorted sax solos, delivering rock music with heart, grit, and a touch of reckless charm. The Big Black Holes thrive on contradictions—where feeling is as important as sound—creating music that is both raw and experimental. From their DIY beginnings to their growing live reputation, they continue to celebrate the joy and messiness of rock in all its forms.
