BIOGRAPHY
Spela Död is a Swedish band that blends playful rock ‘n’ roll, catchy pop melodies, and a touch of new prog, creating a sound that is both free-spirited and emotionally resonant. Formed in 2020 by Jon-E Jonasson and Christoffer Berg, the duo initially experimented in the studio, where Jon-E explored various instruments and Christoffer crafted lyrics and vocals. Their debut album emerged from this spontaneous collaboration. As the project grew into a full six-piece ensemble, with Pablo Copa, Josefine Green, Moa-Linn Rosenlöf, and Cecil Kriisin joining, the band’s sound became more dynamic and cohesive.
In early 2025, Spela Död will release Nattpass, their first album on BlackValley Records. While it marks a new chapter, it feels like the band’s true debut—capturing a newfound unity and musical clarity. Their music combines lighthearted energy with emotional depth, often exploring themes of outsiders and dreamers trying to ”swing” in a confusing world. Spela Död’s music is an expression of both freedom and reflection, where rock is both serious and playful, naive and grave. Their journey continues to be one of creative joy, blending infectious energy with emotional resonance.
