BIOGRAPHY
From Gothenburg’s bustling music scene, Sean Edvards finally emerges with their debut single Bite my arm. A new band with an international feel, but with its heart still in the Swedish indie scene. Behind the project are Malte O’Reilly and Elias Stenman, previously known from the indie band Äventyret, who over the years have made a name for themselves with their energy and stage presence. Äventyret was an indie band from Falun/Borlänge that moved to Gothenburg with big musical dreams. They released two albums and several singles, with their debut album being voted the third-best Swedish record of the year in Nöjesguiden.
Now they bring that experience into Sean Edvards – a project where the music has grown in both sound and expression. Influences from the melodic pop of the 60s and artists like Mac DeMarco, The Kinks, and Klaus Johann Grobe blend into something unique. Here, there is a combination of psychedelic undertones, soft grooves, and songs that move between playfulness and melancholy.
The single Bite my arm is one of the band’s more romantic songs, a duet between singer Malte O’Reilly and keyboardist Felicia Darhult Störby, who also plays in the Americana duo Lily Arbor. The entire EP, Hoping for something new, hoping for something good, will be released at the end of June.
